Troubleshooting common installation issues

If you encounter problems installing MATLAB products, please refer to the FAQs that may arise during the installation process. If you still have questions, please contact technical support. Please provide any error messages, log files, or screenshots related to the issue in your help request.

Internet connection issues

If you lose your internet connection during installation, please try running the installation program again. If there are still connection issues, please try one or more of the following methods:

Temporarily disable antivirus software and Internet security applications on the computer during the installation process. These applications may slow down the installation process or cause the installation process to appear unresponsive.

Create a more reliable Internet connection (such as by approaching a router or using Ethernet cables).

The tmp folder is not large enough

During the installation process, the MathWorks installation program will temporarily store the files in the tmp folder of your platform. If you receive an error message indicating that the tmp folder is not large enough to complete the installation, you can change the location where the installation program stores these files.

Licensing issues

During the installation process, there may be situations where the system does not list the license you want to select. Alternatively, the system may prompt you for an activation key, but there is no option to select a license.

If your MathWorks account is bound to an organization such as a company or university, please contact your IT department to obtain the necessary license information to complete the installation.

If your MathWorks account is not bound to an organization, you may need to purchase a new license or obtain a trial version from the MathWorks Store.
