MGTools introduce

MGtools is a compact and practical tool kit that is currently mainly focused on animation processes, mainly to improve the efficiency of Maya animation operations, so that animators can focus more on the performance part of characters. The latest version of MGtools all tools are written in MEL language, using Maya internal node operations, which will not affect the universality of scene files.

Basic Introduction

MGTools (Character Animation Production Tools) is an excellent character animator production tool designed specifically for Maya 2015-2017 versions. The official version of MGtools is written in MEL language, mainly using Maya internal nodes. It provides view functions, including animation import and export, MG action library, selection set and inter selection transfer of animation, fast constraints, guided constraints, and adsorption animation feet, which can greatly improve the efficiency of animation production.

Main characteristics

1. The main interface is simple and elegant, with flexible layout.

2. Any external Mel can be built-in, integrated into a separate toolbar, and built into the MGshelf button right-click menu of MGtools.

3. Folder shortcuts can be built in to quickly search for information and submit files. At the same time, there are quick access to the maya installation directory, script directory, crash directory (sweat), etc.

4. It can have built-in file/program shortcuts to quickly start external programs and view related documents.

5. The floating MG channel bar not only integrates Maya channel bar functions, but also has unique features suitable for animators. These are all based on the high efficiency of MarkingMenu access.

6. The selection set function of external file mode allows all selection sets to be displayed in a list or in a shelf format, making it convenient for character selection and conversion work. These selection sets can be easily swapped with the selection of toolbars using the shelf (a habit of most animators), and can also be built-in and saved with the scene.

7. Find smoothBind joints based on the selected vertices to facilitate constraining props with bones.

8. Import and export relative position information of parent constraint constraints.

9. Customizable two to three view configurations are interchangeable. No longer need to click on many options in the scene view menu.

10. Fix the selected object to the current view, such as an emoticon panel, or create a fixed view for the selected object for easy observation.

11. Draw a curve based on animation keyframes. It can be used to observe the path or as a motionPath.

12. Commonly used functions can be customized with shortcuts in the MGtools configuration or installed in the shelf, self start, etc. You can also switch the interface language of the entire MGtools.
