CATIA has a powerful surface design module.


1.Generative Shape Design

GSD, abbreviated as Generative Modeling, is a very complete curve operation tool and the most basic surface construction tool. In addition to completing all curve operations, it can also perform functions such as stretching, rotating, scanning, boundary filling, bridging, patching fragments, splicing, convex points, cropping, smoothing, projection and advanced projection, chamfering, etc., with a maximum continuity of G2, generating a closed volume, Fully achieve the surface modeling function of ordinary 3D CAD software, such as Pro/E. 2.Free Style Surface

3.Automotive Class A


 

 

Abbreviated as ACA, it is a Class A automotive surface that is completely non parametric. This module provides powerful curve and surface editing functions, as well as incredibly powerful one click surface smoothing functions. Almost all commands can reach G3 without damaging the original smooth shape. It can achieve synchronous surface operations (control point dragging, smoothing, chamfering, etc.) on multiple surfaces or even the entire product shape.


4.FreeStyle Sketch Tracer

Referred to as FST, it is a free style sketch drawing that can trace the basic shape curve of the product based on three views or photos.


5.Digitized Shape Editor

Referred to as DSE, a digital surface editor, which samples, edits, and trims the input point cloud data to meet the requirements of the closest product appearance, and can generate high-quality mesh small triangles. Completely non parametric.


6.Quick Surface Reconstruction

Referred to as QSR, rapid surface reconstruction provides various ways to generate curves for surface modeling based on input point cloud data or mesh generated small triangles, completely non parametric.


7.Shape Sculpter

The shape editing of small triangular bodies allows for various operations on them, with almost powerful functions similar to CATIA surface operations and completely non parametric.


8.Automotive BIW Fastening

Design the welding method and geometric dimensions between the various sheet metal parts of the car's white body for fastening.


9.Image & Shape

You can drag, stretch, twist the product shape, add "Image Shape" and other methods like pinching dough to achieve the ideal design shape. Can extremely quickly complete the conceptual design of product appearance.
