Through Trapcode 2024, artists can now create realistic thermodynamics with new combustion characteristics and create particle trajectories using Parent's Stroke. VFX 2024 has opened up a new dimension for lighting control and has made multiple enhancements to Real Lens Flares. With the help of Magic Bullet 2024, color calibration has always been easier - coupled with a large number of new presets, it provides artists with more creative freedom. Universe 2024 also saw significant workflow improvements and provided new presets. Redshift provides more creative freedom and improves the performance of multi-core CPUs when using MatCap and Distorter shaders. As a special treatment for Maxon One subscribers, we have launched the most comprehensive Maxon Capsules to date, including Rocket Lasso's new spline modifier, Redshift's metal and paint materials, and 3D models that can be used for indoor and outdoor visualization.
Cinema 4D 2024
Cinema 4D 2024 provides unparalleled speed and performance for the most complex creative scenarios. Rigid body simulations can now interact with all existing forces, fireworks, cloth, and soft bodies. Pyro stands out with a popular new feature that allows flames to be emitted from particles and matrices. The new vertex normal tool provides artists with unparalleled accuracy to achieve perfect surfaces.
The speed of Cinema 4D 2024 is more than twice that of previous versions - with the power of Maxon's new core, it optimizes speed and performance.
Thanks to the addition of rigid body simulation to Cinema 4D's unified simulation system, solid objects can interact with all simulation types in the scene whether they are soft bodies, cloth, ropes, or fireworks.
Pyro now provides artists with more precise control, allowing for "artistic guidance" simulations and ensuring that their results align with their vision. Fireworks can be emitted by adding Pyro labels to standard particle emitters, Thinking Particle geometry, and matrix clones. This allows artists to create movie scenes or beautiful fireworks in the night sky using flames, smoke, and explosions. With the help of UpRes, creative personnel can use lower resolution simulations for faster turnaround during the artistic guidance and conceptualization stages of the project, and then render full quality simulations to obtain the final output.
Cinema 4D 2024 introduces new vertex normal control, allowing artists to fully control adjusting vertex and polygon normals to remove artifacts.
The new modeling tools in Cinema 4D 2024 will make handling complex tasks effortless. Pattern selection allows artists to repeatedly select by clicking on the grid surface. Projection deformers provide users with fast control and allow them to move points from one object in any direction to another.
The node UI in Cinema 4D 2024 has been improved. In addition to improving the overall appearance, the new annotation feature allows for direct annotation in the node editor, allowing artists to record their node network.
Red Giant 2024
The latest updates for Red Giant include updates to the Trapcode, Magic Bullet, VFX, and Universe toolsets. With the help of specific fluid dynamics simulation extensions, Trapcode 2024 allows artists to create realistic thermal dynamics. VFX 2024 has opened up a new dimension of lighting control and made multiple enhancements to Real Lens Flares. Trapcode 2024
Combustion is a new subset of parameters in a specific fluid dynamics group, adding real thermodynamic properties to the simulation. Burning allows artists to directly create convincing fireworks effects in After Effects - such as igniting an unlit torch in an actor's hand with a flame that responds realistically to positional data.
Stroke from Parent is a new emitter type option and an alternative to Emit from Parent. Due to the behavior of "stroke from parent" being more like a 3D stroke, artists can create seamless trajectories behind parent particles.
VFX 2024
With the 2D+distance function, artists can increase the dimensionality of the scene by changing the distance of light sources in Z space. The "Distance Affects Size" and "Size Affects Brightness" parameters can change the appearance of the spot during movement. Perfect for adding flares to dramatic shots of objects moving towards the camera.
Light Control allows artists to accurately locate and control flares in 3D tracking scenes based on AE lighting.
Ring Projection brings back the cool flare style of the 1970s and 1980s, allowing filmmakers to mimic the appearance of iconic films such as' Blade Runner '.
When enabling draft mode for applying Real Lens Flares layers in After Effects, artists will benefit from performance improvements. Quickly work and create animations at lower resolutions, while still achieving complete quality in the final rendering.
Thanks to the new Schutz background lighting, Schutz can now be illuminated through the brightness values of the lens or light source, allowing for seamless and more realistic integration into the material.
Magic Bullet 2024
Maxon has over 30 new presets, covering movie appearances, music videos, fashion movies, and video blogs, further simplifying the workflow in Magic Bullet 2024, allowing artists to unleash greater creativity with inspiration from Capsule.
After Effects users can now benefit from synchronized OCIO color management. Setting up color management can be complex - that's why Looks saves settings after setting them in After Effects, so users don't have to perform color management twice and can fully focus on creative aspects.
Universe 2024
Universe 2024 performed exceptionally well - with over 50 new presets, the new Capsule provides video editors and synthesizers with an easier workflow and stimulates their creativity.
Redshift
Redshift 3.5.19 has added several input image adjustment features to the MatCap shader, and the Distorter shader now supports 3D distortion from Maxon noise and 2D distortion from bump mapping. Redshift has improved CPU performance on systems with over 12 CPU threads.
The MatCap shader has additional adjustment parameters, allowing users to prepare exquisite illustration renderings based on their own digital sketches. Very suitable for quickly creating simple, stylized renderings.

Capsules
Rocket Lasso's new catenary spline modifier allows for easy creation of suspended wires, ropes, and cables. This modifier is specifically designed for Maxon One subscription users and can be used in conjunction with the Spline modifier to create a bundle of hanging lines that gather together at random intervals. Putting the results into the volume grid will produce hanging mucus and extremely disgusting tendrils.
Rocket Lasso's Break Spline Modifier obtained three additional sample scenarios.
We have added a comprehensive collection of Redshift materials created by visualization experts Fuchs and Vogel: this latest material pack includes 32 types of Redshift metal materials (from rough gold to stained nickel) and 18 impeccable Redshift car paint materials: from pearl to matte black, and then to rainbow fragments of red that vary with the viewing angle.
The Capsules Plant Library now includes 52 additional models provided by Laubwerk, which can be used for outdoor visualization. Among them are various varieties of Mediterranean cypress, umbrella tree, or Virginia witch hazel, which are comprehensive enough to make any botanist's heart beat faster.
