Rack diagram is used to help establish a graphical framework and organize components of a computer rack, displaying the configuration of computer equipment. The rack diagram shows servers, converters, routers Raid、UPS、 Location and model information of electronic devices such as hard disk drives and modems.
Rack refers to a system that is only used for comprehensive cabling, installation of distribution frames and cable management frames, and management of cable and optical fiber cabling systems. A rack is used to directly place devices with unclear specifications such as servers and routers. Each rack can only accommodate one server and is not suitable for expensive equipment. Cabinets are closely related to racks and are used for stacking heating, network equipment, communication equipment, and electronic devices. They store multiple racks with protective measures.
Server Rack Diagram Overview
Drawing a server rack diagram generally requires the use of components with different racks, various devices, and arrow connections. Firstly, based on project requirements, the rack types were selected, including 1 30U rack, 1 20U rack, and 2 15U racks. Then, use text above the rack to indicate the location, place the equipment required for the project, and connect the devices using arrows of different colors as needed.
For the equipment inside each rack, it is necessary to provide textual descriptions of the equipment names. The location of the equipment corresponds one-to-one with the actual placement position, which facilitates the installation and management of the equipment in the later stage.
How to draw a server rack diagram
Taking Wanxing Diagram (formerly Yitu Diagram) PC as an example, demonstrate how to draw a server rack diagram.
Step 1- Open Wanxing Diagram (formerly Yitu Diagram)
Open the Wanxing diagram (original Yitu diagram) and select the appropriate server rack diagram template
Step 2- Select "Layout Plan"
On the "New" page, select "New>Network>Network Diagram>Rack Diagram" in sequence;
Step 3- Select the server rack diagram template
Place the mouse on the right side of the page, where we can see the template for the server rack diagram. Click on the appropriate template to enter the relevant editing page. This time, we chose to click on the "New Blank Drawing" template. You can choose the appropriate template from more templates as needed.
Step 5- Add Symbol Library
You can click on the symbols below the symbol library here. There is already a symbol library for Gantt charts. Choose to add relevant symbols such as "annotations" and "connectors" from commonly used basic symbols.
Step 6- Start Drawing and Adjusting
Open the "Rack Diagram" symbol library, drag in rack symbols, and copy the number of racks according to project requirements.
Modify the number of setting units for the rack as needed. After clicking on the rack, click on the double bar symbol in the upper right corner again, select "Set Unit Number", and the "Set Unit Number" pop-up window will pop up. The number of units in each rack can be modified sequentially according to the needs of the project.
Place the equipment in each rack as needed, and click on the blank space above the rack to edit the text to indicate its location. Dragging in the device symbol will automatically pop up the "U number" window, and modifying the left text cannot modify the U number. After placing the device, click on the text on the right to modify the device name. The device placement is complete, the next step is to connect it using the arrow.
Step 7- Change Background Color
You can change the page background, this time the page background will be changed to light green. In addition, add interface watermarks and background images according to the needs of the project.
Step 8: Modify the theme style of the progress bar
The preliminary drawing is completed. You can select the theme style of the progress bar on the right toolbar, choose the pen tool in the toolbar, and use the graphic tool to draw complex graphics.
Step 9: Save/Share/Export Files
Click on 'File' to operate on the drawing file;
After the server rack diagram is drawn, export the image according to the drawing requirements. Export method: Select the file in the upper right corner, as shown in the figure. In addition, you can also save source files, as well as save, export photos, send, print, and upload them to your personal cloud for storage.
