Navicat Mac provides various tools to improve the user experience when using Navicat, including object information, connection colors, search filtering, and more.

Object Information

In the object list, you can also view information about the selected object. Select View ->Object Information from the main menu, or press CMD-I or click 'More Information' from the Object List toolbar. Note: Tabs are based on the type of object you have selected.

ER Chart

In addition to viewing lists and detailed information, Navicat has added tables to view new ER charts. In this ER chart view, you can view the relationships between table columns and tables in the database or schema through the chart, which also allows for direct addition of foreign key restrictions to the table.

Note: Only tables provide ER chart viewing. Other database objects only provide a list and detailed information for viewing.

Select View ->ER Chart from the main menu, or click on "Chart" in the Table Object List toolbar. If the selected database or schema contains tables, an ER chart will be automatically created.

Connection Color

Navicat Mac provides color highlighting of connections to identify connections and their database objects. The highlighted color is displayed in the connection tree and next to the database object name in the tab bar.

To highlight a connection, hold down the Control key and click on the connection, and select 'Color' from the pop-up menu.

Search Filter

Navicat provides filtering for objects in the connection tree or object list, and "object filtering" allows you to filter objects containing filtering strings in the object list or model.

In the Navicat main window, click on "Search" or click on the search icon in the Model Designer and specify a filter string. Clicking on the search icon has additional options for filtering.
